Graduate Project Officer – Full Time
We’re seeking a self-motivated Graduate level Project Officer with sound computer skills to provide administrative and project support to the Secretariat of the Sydney Coastal Councils Group. The position is on a full-time basis (38 hours per week, 12-month contract, $55,000 to $57,000). If you have a passion for our marine and coastal environments and want to work on collaborative multi-disciplinary projects then this role may be for you.
To be successful in this role, you will be a recent graduate in coastal or environmental management, planning or engineering with experience or an aptitude in business administration. You will possess excellent attention to detail, organisational and computer skills, high level written and verbal communication, the ability to use initiative in completing tasks and collating information, and an interest in the coastal environment.

Environmental Science/Management Volunteer
Our work relies on the commitment of individuals passionate about our coastal and estuarine environment who volunteer their time and skills.
Current students and graduates who have studied a degree related to environmental or marine science, environmental management, environmental law or sustainability are encouraged to apply for our volunteer program. Student graduate volunteers:
- need to have, or be in the process of completing, a relevant degree; and
- must be able to provide a CV and academic transcript

The SCCG are seeking media and communications volunteers to create engaging content for SCCG’s social media presence, including keeping social media channels updated and brand-focused, developing and promoting the Coastal Currents newsletter.
- Help create and maintain a social media plan
- Use social media to promote the activities and achievements of the SCCG
- Keeping our social media channels updated on a frequent basis
- Develop and manage content for our website and social media, such as Instagram, Facebook & Linkedin
- Develop and disseminate information via the Coastal Currents newsletter on a quarterly basis
- Take part in monthly teleconference meetings with committee members
- Track the effectiveness of our social media work and recommend ways forward
Volunteers must be in the process, or have completed a degree related to media and communications.
