Aim

The aim of The Group is to promote cooperation between, and coordination of actions by member councils in consultation with the broader community on issues of regional significance concerning the sustainable management of the urban coastal environment.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the Group are:

1. To co-ordinate and facilitate the exchange of information on urban coastal management to local councils.
2. To enhance community awareness on matters related to urban coastal management.
3. To expand the role of local government in the management of the urban coastal environment.
4. To represent the interests of the estuarine, embayment and ocean beach councils in the Sydney region to promote the sustainable development of the
   coastal environment.
5. To identify sources of funding available to local government for the management of the urban coastal environment and to facilitate the procurement and distribution of these funds
